01What is vehicle number numerology?
Vehicle number numerology takes the registration number on a car, scooter or motorcycle, adds its digits and reduces the total to a single digit from 1 to 9. That digit is read through the graha ank jyotish gives it (1 Sun, 2 Moon, 3 Jupiter, 4 Rahu, 5 Mercury, 6 Venus, 7 Ketu, 8 Saturn, 9 Mars). The number-to-graha mapping is Indian; the letter values some practitioners add for the whole plate are Chaldean, a Western system named for Babylon. Applying either to a registration plate is a modern application. Plates are barely a century old, and no classical text mentions them.
02How to calculate vehicle number numerology?
Take the registration number itself, the last group of digits on the plate, and add the digits. For RJ14 CD 4521 that is 4 + 5 + 2 + 1, which is 12, and 12 reduces to 1 + 2, which is 3, ruled by Jupiter. Some practitioners also add the district code (1 + 4 + 4 + 5 + 2 + 1 is 17, which reduces to 8), and some add the letters too by their Chaldean values. The three methods can give three different digits, so the calculator prints all of them with every step, and uses the first, the commonest, for the comparison with your own numbers.
03Is there a vehicle number numerology chart?
The chart every method rests on is short: the nine digits and their grahas, printed further down this page. A 5 is Mercury's and is read as the number of movement and trade; an 8 is Saturn's and is read as heavy and slow; a 4 is Rahu's and is read as unpredictable. The second chart is the graha friendship table, which decides whether a vehicle number reads as friendly, neutral or contrary to the owner's mulank. Enter a date of birth and the calculator lists which of 1 to 9 that table counts as friendly to your mulank, which is the honest form of a lucky number chart.
04What is the best car number in numerology?
No digit is best in the sense of changing what happens on the road, and there is no evidence that a plate number does. Within the tradition, lucky car number numerology has two strands. The general one prefers 5, Mercury's number of movement, and treats 4 and 8 with caution, reading Rahu as disruption and Saturn as delay. The personal one, which practitioners weight more, prefers a vehicle number whose graha is friendly to the owner's mulank and bhagyank. The calculator shows both, and leaves the judgement with you.
05How to choose a car number with numerology?
When a registration office or dealer offers a choice of numbers, practitioners work out the owner's mulank from the day of birth and the bhagyank from the whole date, then look for a registration number whose single digit sits in a friendly relation to both. Where the two disagree, some weight the mulank and others the bhagyank. Enter each candidate here with your date of birth and compare the working side by side. A fancy or VIP number chosen this way reflects a preference of the tradition, nothing more.
06Should the state code and letters count in a car number?
Practitioners disagree, and the choice changes the answer. The commonest reading uses only the registration number, usually four digits, on the argument that the state code and series letters are shared by thousands of other vehicles and so say nothing about yours. Others add every digit, and some convert the letters by the Chaldean table and add the whole plate. None of these positions has a source older than the people holding it, which is why the calculator reports all three rather than choosing one silently.
07Does vehicle number numerology come from Vedic astrology?
No, and it is worth being plain about that. Classical Jyotish has a rule for a vehicle, but it is a timing rule: the vehicle purchase muhurat, a favourable day and window to buy or take delivery. Nothing in the classical texts gives a vehicle a number. What vehicle number numerology borrows is older than the practice itself: the Indian nine-graha mapping of ank jyotish and the Chaldean letter values. Pointed at a plate, they make a modern application, and this page labels it as one.
